Ciné is proud to participate in this year's SCIENCE ON SCREEN®, a grant initiative of the Coolidge Corner Theatre, in partnership with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, that creatively pairs current, classic, cult, and documentary films with lively introductions by notable figures from the world of science, technology, and medicine.  See below for this year's lineup of films and events:

Thursday March 26
Reception 7:15-8:00pm
Screening and Discussion 8:00pm

A perfect bowling game is the one true pursuit of Jeff Lebowski. But does he realize the symphony of mechanical and mathematical equations that define the perfect strike? Dr. Craig Wiegert does and he will explain to us the absolute miracle of physics that a perfect bowling game entails, but not before we have a little Wii Bowling fun and some munchies.

The evening starts at 7:15 pm in the Ciné Lab where we'll transform the space with a rug to tie the room together, play Wii Bowling and enjoy nachos. The Ciné Bar will be offering White Russians. At 8:00 pm we'll move to the theater for the film with an introduction, "The Dude’s Perfect Game: How force, velocity and spin combine to create a strike" from Dr. Craig Wiegert, Associate Professor and Associate Department Head of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UGA. This is sure to help us all improve our game.
