Ciné's founders have begun a new organization to assume operational responsibilities for the cinema: THE ATHENS FILM ARTS INSTITUTE (AFAI). This newly formed non-profit organization, which has applied for 501(c)3 nonprofit status, will allow Ciné to expand its educational and artistic programming with the expert input of a Board of Directors and the financial support of dedicated patrons.
The annual membership programs have been adapted to better suit this new organizational structure, as well as to help increase the overall box office revenue numbers that are crucial to obtaining the kind of quality films that Ciné endeavors to include in its programming. Of course, all EXISTING MEMBERSHIPS will continue to be honored under their original terms for as long as they are valid.
In the near future, the AFAI will also begin offering new Friends of Ciné support and sponsorship opportunities, so please stay tuned for more details and thank you for your continued support of the cinema! |
