ECOFOCUS FILM FESTIVAL - SEPTEMBER 24 - OCTOBER 3 |
| |
 |
Welcome to the third year of the ECOFOCUS FILM FESTIVAL! EcoFocus s a celebration of environmental films in Athens, GA that seeks to push the usual boundaries of "environmental" by screening diverse films that explore meanings and possibilities for what it is to be alive on our planet today.
We believe that film is a particularly valuable medium for raising awareness about environmental issues. Our mission is to screen a diversity of high-quality environmental films that promote discussion and inspire audiences into awareness and action on behalf of the environment. We intend for EcoFocus films to inspire and move our audiences, creating a community forum in which we can reflect upon our relationship to the environment.
Many films selected for EcoFocus have limited large-screen viewing opportunities, and the festival offers a unique opportunity for audiences to experience these films as they were meant to be seen. We hope that EcoFocus audiences come away from the festival with inspiration and, in some cases, concrete ideas for how they can be a part of environmental solutions.
EcoFocus celebrates the power of film to bring together members of our community to be inspired about the environment. There is no “right” audience for EcoFocus – these films are for everyone. From the environmentally savvy to those relatively new to thinking about the environment – these films are for you. Enjoy! |
